This Latin command urges us to attend to our own needs — emotional, physical, and spiritual — creating a whole self before attempting to bring wholeness to others.

It is our call in life to develop our unique gifts and use them for the betterment of our families, communities, and the world at large. But to do this we must also move ourselves toward positive change and balance. In doing so, we build a solid foundation from which to give.
